SALT LAKE CITY CODE
11.48.070: CONCEALED WEAPONS:
   A.   It is unlawful for any person, except a peace officer, to carry any slingshot, brass knuckles, nunchaku stick, or any other instrument or object capable of causing death or serious bodily injury concealed upon his person, other than firearms or knives regulated by state law.

Hmm, that's interesting. So you can carry a gun into Salt Lake City, but you cannot carry nunchuks.  And it's not just Salt Lake...

In Massachusetts, Arizona, New York and California, not only the use, but the possession of nunchucks are illegal.   One case in California involved the police entering the home of a martial arts instructor and, upon sight; the police confiscated a pair of nunchucks hanging as a display on a wall.  The man was cited for 6 counts of misdemeanor possession.

And nunchuks are not very concealable either.

So, do you still want to learn nunchuks?  Why?  Because it's "flashy"?

OK, if you really want to learn nunchuks, here's my video to get you started (yes, that's me):
